🤝 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH The Information

Read The Information first…or them later

The Information’s journalists get the news that other newsrooms envy. That’s why their reporting on tech, media and finance has been followed by the New York Times, Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal and dozens of other outlets more than 400 times in the last year.

📕 LEARN SOMETHING
ChatGPT Vision and Data Analysis (3 ways)

As you know by now, ChatGPT can read images. This means that effective prompting is a thing of the past.

Now, you can simply upload a photo of a SQL table, dashboard, etc. and let ChatGPT come up with the solution for you.

Here are 3 of my favorite things to do:

1/ SQL schema to SQL query

With ChatGPT Vision, take a photo of your SQL schema diagram and it can write any query for you.

Here’s an example:

It’s so easy!

If you’re a SQL data analyst, why not use ChatGPT 4 instead of doing it yourself or asking someone more junior?

2/ Charts to Reports

Yes, you can upload multiple images.

Here’s an example of me uploading several COVID charts and asking it to summarize findings for me

3/ Dashboard to Answers (warning)

Warning: you should always check your answers - ChatGPT is notoriously bad at math and quantitative synthesis
