Agents, agents everywhere… That’s the theme today, with Microsoft, Salesforce, and Slack all unleashing their own agents and agent builders.

What are agents? Think about ChatGPT but it has access to your systems and can autonomously perform tasks in complex workflows.

For example, I have an AI agent linked up to my email that reads my emails and sends me texts on emails where an urgent reply is needed. I also built an agent that joins my product meetings and captures tickets, and sends those tickets to Trello.

Agents have always existed before LLMs, but agents + LLMs are a powerful combination.

Intelligence: Slack, owned by Salesforce, has incorporated AI agents and new workflows into its platform, reportedly increasing productivity by up to 47%.

• Salesforce unveiled several AI-based enhancements for Slack, aimed at boosting productivity.

• AI-powered agents can now work alongside human employees, with integrated data analysis into a new user interface. The AI agents are connected to Slack's partners, such as Adobe, Anthropic, Cohere, and Perplexity, to facilitate improved collaboration with third-party services.
