🧠 AI can read brain waves and generate photos

🏗️ Create AI apps with prompts + 😟 100K tech jobs lost this year

Hello folks,

Crazy advances in AI today. In particular, an AI that can read your brain activity and generate photos (so, basically, mind reading). I don’t buy it though, what do you think?

Also, over 100K jobs have been lost - maybe it’s something to do with how you can create AI Apps with prompts now (check it out below).

Let’s get into it.

🤝 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ZAPT

AI Just Got Easy: Build Powerful AI Apps in Seconds

ZAPT revolutionizes AI development. No code, no prompts, no fuss - just describe your idea, and our platform builds a custom solution instantly. With pre-built prompts, easy sharing, and monetization options, we make AI accessible to all. Transform your workflow and boost productivity with ZAPT.

📕 LEARN SOMETHING

Create AI apps with prompts

Zapt is great for builders. You can create an AI app in 1-2 minutes with prompts. Here’s one I made that calculates how much taxes I owe in Canada.

It’s pretty basic, but a good way to start.

How to do it:

  1. Go to Zapt

  2. Login, and select Build an app

  3. Put in your prompt. Mine was “Create a basic tax calculator for Canadians“

  4. Click Next, and then Build, and voila - you have your app.

You can modify other things about your app too, like details, logic, landing pages, user data, etc.

Breakthrough Mind-Reading AI Turns Thoughts into Pictures

Source: NewsScientiest

Intelligence: Researchers from Radboud University have made a significant advance in AI and neuroscience, creating a mind-reading AI system that can reconstruct images from brain activity with unprecedented accuracy.

  • The researchers used two different studies to test their AI system. In the first, volunteers were shown pictures while in an fMRI machine, and the AI was able to reconstruct images based on the captured brain activity.

  • In the second study, the AI reanalyzed data from a previous experiment involving a macaque monkey. The AI could recreate images almost identical to the original ones from the monkey’s brain activity, thanks to the precise data provided by implanted devices.

  • The AI system was unique in its ability to learn which parts of the brain to focus on, resulting in highly accurate image reconstructions.

  • Umut Guclu, a member of the research team, stated these are the "closest, most accurate reconstructions" to date.

  • The technology has wide-ranging potential applications, particularly in the medical field for restoring vision and enabling new forms of communication for those with disabilities.

Significance: This is a significant development, as it promises innovative treatments for vision loss and improved communication for individuals with disabilities. Furthermore, it represents a leap forward in our understanding of brain activity and the practical application of AI in neuroscience.

Apple's AI Privacy Approach Versus Android's 'Hybrid AI' Strategy

Intelligence: Amid growing privacy concerns, Apple claims its unique AI architecture offers superior data protection compared to the 'Hybrid AI' strategy adopted by Samsung and Google.

  • Apple's Private Cloud Compute (PCC) allows core tasks to be processed on the device, with more complex requests handled by a cloud-based system that masks the origin of AI prompts.

  • Critics argue that the hybrid AI processing adopted by Samsung and Google may pose risks as some data is sent to cloud servers without the same level of accountability that Apple offers.

  • Apple's partnership with OpenAI could potentially compromise its privacy claims, as some data may be collected and analyzed by OpenAI.

  • Apple and Google are encouraging security researchers to find vulnerabilities in their AI solutions, acknowledging the potential security risks as AI technology integrates deeper into their operating systems.

Significance: This issue underscores the importance of privacy and security as AI becomes increasingly integrated into our devices.
