Apple Intelligence Unveils New AI Capabilities and Enhanced User Experience

Intelligence: Apple Intelligence, the personal intelligence system for Apple devices, has introduced a range of new capabilities aimed at enhancing user experience and language understanding.’

• All the amazing things Apple Intelligence released

  • Apple Intelligence now offers writing tools for text rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing.

  • Enhancements in notifications include priority notifications, email summaries, and a 'Reduce Interruptions' focus.

  • The new Image Playground feature allows users to create personalized images in various styles.

  • Users can now create personalized Genmoji based on descriptions or photos.

  • Siri offers richer language understanding, better context relevance, and personalization.

• Apple Intelligence will be available for free in beta on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia in U.S. English.

Significance: Finally, the last tech giant starts playing with AI. With the majority of users having iPhones, this will be a big deal to how we work with AI.

Create caricatures of your coworkers

This is a lot of fun, and you can do it with Copilot or ChatGPT. Here’s one I created for Satya, and it’s so perfect.

How to do it:

1. Go on your coworker’s Linkedin profile, select the ellipses near the top of their profile, and select “Download PDF”

2. Upload the PDF into Copilot or ChatGPT with the following prompt “create a caricature based on this profile“

3. Download the photo and send to your coworker

European Banks Express Concern Over AI Dependency on U.S. Big Tech

Intelligence: European banks are voicing concerns that the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) could heighten their dependency on major U.S. tech companies, potentially introducing fresh risks to the industry.

• Concerns were raised at the recent Money 20/20 financial technology conference in Amsterdam. European banks want to ensure they can switch between different tech providers to avoid vendor lock-in.

• Despite these concerns, some bank representatives believe they will have to rely more on big tech for infrastructure services due to the enormous resources needed for training AI models.

• The major tech companies, known as hyperscalers, have been investing heavily in AI, with many purchasing large quantities of Nvidia's GPU accelerators to build their AI services.

• Antitrust investigations are underway in the UK and Europe regarding the power of U.S. cloud companies in the IT services marketplace.
