• Released under the Apache 2.0 license, this open-source model is designed to meet the demands of modern AI applications that require text handling, multimodal input processing, and low-latency performance at a cost-efficient rate.

Stability AI Launched Stable Virtual Camera for Transforming 2D Images into 3D Videos

Intelligence: A new tool called Stable Virtual Camera has been introduced by Stability AI, currently in research preview, which utilizes a multi-view diffusion model to convert 2D images into immersive 3D videos with realistic depth and perspective.

• This model can generate 3D videos from a single image or up to 32 images, supporting user-defined camera trajectories as well as 14 dynamic camera paths, including 360°, Dolly Zoom, and Spiral.

• Stable Virtual Camera merges traditional virtual camera controls with generative AI, allowing filmmakers and animators to intuitively navigate and capture real-time 3D outputs without the need for complex scene reconstruction.

• Users can specify various camera movements and trajectories to create diverse video effects.

• Users can produce videos in multiple aspect ratios—square (1:1), portrait (9:16), landscape (16:9)—without requiring additional training.

• It is capable of creating 3D videos of up to 1,000 frames, ensuring temporal consistency and smooth transitions.

• In competitive benchmarks, Stable Virtual Camera outperforms existing models like ViewCrafter and CAT3D, excelling in areas of novel view synthesis (NVS), both for large and small viewpoints.
