📕 LEARN SOMETHING
Get data insights with Copilot for Excel
Copilot for Excel has this new prompt which I really like.
You can take any data set and ask Copilot to “show all data insights”. You then get a set of pivot tables and graphs of interesting things it found in the data, with some conclusions.
How to do it:
You need Copilot Pro or Copilot for Microsoft 365. You also need an Excel file with data formatted as a table and where the file is saved on OneDrive.
Click Copilot
Type in “Show data insights“, and then type in “Add all insights to grid“
🤿 DEEP DIVE
Microsoft's AI Tool Copilot and the Controversy Over Productivity
Intelligence: Microsoft's AI productivity tool Copilot, designed to increase efficiency and reduce menial tasks, sparked controversy among office workers who argue it might actually increase unnecessary workload.
The advertisement for Copilot, which suggests users can attend three meetings simultaneously, has been met with skepticism and criticism. Critics argue that the tool could lead to overwork and burnout, rather than enhancing productivity.
Since 2020, Microsoft Teams users have tripled the time they spend in meetings, leading to the development of AI tools like Copilot.
Copilot can help users summarize a missed meeting nearly 4x faster than non-Copilot users, according to a Microsoft spokesperson.
Jeanine Turner, professor of management at Georgetown University, stated that Copilot is a treatment for a symptom of systemic issues in workplace culture, rather than a solution.
Critics argue that AI bots like Copilot could contribute to a disconnect between people and their work, and may hinder spontaneous interactions that promote workplace bonding.
Significance: While AI tools like Copilot can potentially streamline tasks and improve efficiency, they also raise concerns about overwork, burnout, and a loss of human connection in the workplace.
