🔎 Get insights from your data using simple language and save hours

+ 💼 Generate SQL queries in less than 1 minute + ✍️ Interview moderating with AI

Hello folks,

Happy Monday!

As Data Analysts / Scientists / Aficionados, tools like SQL, Python, and R has been our bread and butter.

AI is moving beyond the hype stage and beginning to materially affect how organizations play with their data.

We strongly believe that as a Data Analyst, you need to embrace these tools around you and include them in your workflow

Microsoft says it best, these tools should be a co-pilot, instead of a replacement.

In this issue, we explore how you can save hours by using AI tools as a co-pilot for data analysis…

In this issue:

  • 📕 Learn Something: Analyze data with English using PandasAI

  • 💥 Trending Tool: Generate SQL queries fast with Logic Loop

  • 🙃 Something Fun: Surveys and interviews just got 100x easier

Let’s get right into it…

📕 LEARN SOMETHING
Analyze data with human language with PandasAI

If you use Python, you’ve definitely used Pandas when analyzing data - we use it daily to create our masterpieces of numbers, tables, and graphs.

PandasAI is a light Python library that adds Generative AI capabilities to Pandas.

The best part? It’s designed to be used in conjunction with Pandas, not as a replacement.

Here are some ways you can use PandasAI now:

1/ Query data

After you’ve loaded your data with Pandas, all you need to do is instantiate the PandasAI object and provide it with a prompt.

Here, I’ve asked it to provide me with the 5 highest revenue movies.

I can even ask more complex queries that require filtering, group by, and sorting:

2/ Save into Pandas dataframe

The best part about PandasAI is that you can put those result into a Pandas dataframe, and then switch between regular Pandas code and PandasAI seamlessly:

3/ Create visualizations

Of course, no Pandas notebook would be complete without some matplotlib visualizations, and PandasAI takes this challenge easily!

By the way, here’s a useful cheat sheet I always have open when coding in Pandas (link)

Using PandasAI is completely free, all you need to get started in your OpenAI API Key (see here).

💥 TRENDING TOOL
Generate SQL queries fast with Logic Loop

English to SQL has been around for several months now - you can even do it within ChatGPT itself.

What makes Logic Loop different? Three things:

  • Connect your database directly to it = no more copying and pasting

  • It reads your schema when constructing SQL queries

  • It can fix your SQL queries

🙃 SOMETHING FUN
Surveys and interviews just got 100x easier (and fun)

Conducting primary research for most companies has always been a pain and a huge time sink…

You need to create interview questions, find people, interview them one-by-one or in small groups, and then analyze the unstructured results.

A new Y-combinator backed startup wants to replace all of that with AI!

Think about it. Generative AI could revolutionize the above by:

  • Creating interview questions - AI could take the insights you want, and easily create smart and focused interview questions

  • Moderating the interview - With AI, you can create an AI interviewer and conduct 1000s of interviews at once, in any language

  • Analyzing unstructured text responses - AI can extract themes from bundles of large text without needing to open Excel or Word

I personally can’t wait for the day where I’m talking to an interviewer, and I have no idea and frankly don’t care if it’s a human or a robot.
