ENTERPRISE DNA PRESENTS

Hello folks,

Learning is a lifelong process, especially if you’re in any tech or data fields. Even traditional high-paying white-collar jobs are not safe.

Both McKinsey and Goldman have stated something similar: Gen AI will impact knowledge work associated with occupations that have higher wages and educational requirements.

So, learning in key! And AI can help with that.

In this issue, we explore the different ways you can use AI to learn and consume knowledge.

In this issue:

  • 📕 Learn Something: Learn anything 10x faster with AI tools

  • 💥 Trending Tool: Summarize any Web pages or YouTube videos

  • 🙃 Something Fun: AI and writers in Hollywood

Let’s get right into it…

📕 LEARN SOMETHING
Learn anything 10x faster with AI tools

Learning with AI has plenty of advantages than traditional textbooks, lectures, and YouTube courses…

  • Personalized feedback - AI can customize the learning experience based on your particular needs

  • Instant Feedback - AI can give you immediate feedback, which is crucial for reinforcement learning

  • It won’t scream at you - Unlike my old high school physics professor

These are the types of tools I wish I had in school, but I’m extremely happy that I have access to them in my career!

Monic is your ultimate learning Copilot.

How does it work? Simply upload some raw text or a document. In my case, I uploaded this 97 page guide on Data Engineering.

And voila! It creates both summaries and assessments for you based on that content.

You can even choose what types of assessment you want - from open-ended, multiple choice, and even fill in the blank.

One thing I was amazed by is how quickly it worked! Only 5 minutes and it summarized the other textbook into a several pages and created a practice exam for me. 🤯

Learn.xyz automatically generates courses in just about anything you want - from professional writing to data science to how to do your taxes.

The genius behind this app is that it creates beautiful lessons, with images! It honestly feels like you’re learning in TikTok.

Here is an example course I generated on Data Analytics and Use-Cases for Accountants 🤓

If you’ve been living under a rock, good ol’ ChatGPT can also help you learn anything. It can be your personal tutor with almost anything, and can create assessments / flashcards / quizzes for you as well.

Here are some prompts to get you started.

💥 TRENDING TOOL
Summarize any Web pages or YouTube videos

Shortform just shipped a simple chrome extension that summarizes anything that’s on your screen, from web pages to YouTube videos.

This is super helpful if you friend just sent you a long video that they promise will “change your life”, but you don’t want to sit there for hours.

I use this every day, especially for long tech articles and papers! New information is being generated at such a high velocity, that you absolutely need AI’s help to consume it.

Here are a few examples:

Other cool tools:

  • Tl;dr - Summarize anything, on your phone

  • Eightify - turn any video into 8 short key points (great for podcasts)

  • MeetGeek - AI meeting assistant and summarizer

  • Afforai - Interact with your documents with AI

🙃 SOMETHING FUN
AI and writers in Hollywood

Netflix got in some trouble last week from posting an AI job ad (starting salary of $900K USD), while writers are actively striking against AI taking their jobs.

AI's role in film and television production, including scriptwriting and actor likeness generation, is a contentious point between both the Actors and Writers of Hollywood.

We have also seen AI produce some amazing media! Sunspring, a science fiction movie about starting Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), was entirely AI written and the movie turned out to be both “hilarious and exciting”

In fact, The Frost, stepped it to a higher level, where every shot is made by an AI image generator! See the full video here.

Personally, we think that being able to use AI in your day-to-day will be as ubiquitous and widespread as the calculator or a computer. I can’t wait to see an AI-created horror movie!
