✈️ GitHub Pilot now has autonomous agents + 🛠️ Tools for work
Hi everyone,
Happy Monday! Some exciting news as I’m about to launch a new Power Automate course this week on TIW.
In the meantime, GitHub Copilot adds support for autonomous agents - which means AI can automatically iterate on code, rectify errors, and even make pull requests.
Also, LinkedIn is getting in the game, creating an LLM based on its vast network to answer questions like “find me candidates who have work in tech and consulting roles, and have managed more than 10 people, and who have experienced in car manufacturing.“
Let’s get right into it.

GitHub Copilot Introduces Agent Mode and Project Padawan to Enhance Developer Experience
Intelligence: GitHub Copilot has announced the launch of its new agent mode and the general availability of Copilot Edits in VS Code, aiming to empower developers by automating tedious tasks in software development.

GitHub Copilot's new agent mode allows the AI to autonomously iterate on its code, rectify errors, suggest terminal commands, and understand additional tasks related to a user's request.
In a demonstration, Copilot was shown creating a web app to track marathon training while autonomously troubleshooting and completing required subtasks. This feature combines conversational interfaces with the ability to edit multiple files simultaneously, making inline adjustments using a natural language interface.
Copilot Edits employs a dual-model architecture, now featuring Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash, optimizing update speed and accuracy in code editing.
The tool allows developers to maintain control through iterative feedback, accepting or rejecting changes as they validate code functionality with unit tests.
A first look at Project Padawan, a new autonomous software engineering (SWE) agent, will enable GitHub Copilot to directly manage issues, produce tested pull requests, and onboard itself as a contributor to repositories.
Behind Project Padawan, Copilot sets up a secure cloud environment for handling tasks, which includes analyzing code, editing files, and ensuring compliance with project guidelines.

LinkedIn Tests AI-Powered Job-Hunting Tool to Enhance Job Search Experience
Intelligence: LinkedIn is trialing a new AI-driven job-hunting tool that utilizes a custom large language model to help users discover job opportunities that may not appear in traditional search processes.

The new job-hunting tool employs a large language model to analyze extensive datasets on LinkedIn, aiming to uncover roles that users may have overlooked using conventional search methods.
Ryan Roslansky, LinkedIn's CEO, emphasized that successful job searching goes beyond simple keyword checks, highlighting the tool's potential to reveal relevant positions users were unaware of.
Users can input specific queries, such as “find me a role where I can use marketing skills to help the environment," allowing for deeper searches beyond just job titles.
The AI tool evaluates job descriptions, company information, and industry data to provide refined job recommendations and indicate new skills needed for various positions.
LinkedIn acknowledges past biases in AI-driven recruitment tools and has implemented safeguards to prevent job matching and candidate assessment discrimination.
Beyond job searches, the AI stack may also help in generating labor insights by analyzing emerging skills in job postings and user discussions on the platform.
