ENTERPRISE DNA PRESENTS

Hello folks,

Depending on your job and level, meetings may be a small annoyance or part of your primary job responsibilities.

The worst is when your meetings are inefficient, which leads to $37B in business losses every year.

This can be because participants…

  • are late 🏃

  • key takeaways are not understood 🤔

  • or there’s no effective meeting assistant to take charge and capture notes 🙋.

AI is here to solve that.

We’ve gone through the all best meeting AI apps out there - here are the best ones to make your meetings 10x more efficient!

In this issue:

  • 📕 Learn Something: Tools to make meetings 10x more efficient

  • 💥 Trending Tool: Summarize Slack conversations with Spoke

  • 🙃 Something Fun: Proposed AI governance framework for everyone

Let’s get right into it…

📕 LEARN SOMETHING
Tools to make meetings 10x more efficient

Otter is likely the most popular one out there, and the one that ships the most amount of features consistently.

Simply connect it to your Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams, and it will automatically record your conversations and provide all these other features:

  • Live transcription, live summary, with team collaboration

  • Highlights key points and assigns action items

  • Writes meeting notes, summarizes them, and distributes them

One of the best features we tested is Otter AI Chat

Now, if you’re ever late to the meeting, you can simply and discreetly ask Otter “what did I miss?”, “has someone mentioned why Q1 results look so bad?”, etc.

Fireflies boasts itself as automating everything in the meeting (creating notes, summarizing them, and being able to search through). It has a more sales + CRM angle.

It also adds these unique other features:

  • Analyzes meetings using conversation intelligence (speaker sentiment, talk time, topic tracker) - so useful for measuring sales calls

  • Creates tasks with voice commands (if someone says “let’s create a TASK to do X”, it will automatically add that to your Trello) 🤯

  • Connects directly with CRM

  • Turns meeting notes into a knowledge base - afterwards, you can query it, organize it, and see it all in one place

tl;dv (Too Long; Didn’t View) is definitely making waves! They recently launched on Product Hunt, and won the #1 product demo video of the year (I personally think it was HILARIOUS).

Yes, it does all the transcription and summarization that you’re looking for, but it also does the following:

  • Transcribes meetings in 30+ languages - great if you have an international team

  • Creates bite-sized clips - used to tell powerful stories

  • Integrates into workflows - calls can be integrated into Notion, Google Docs, Slack, virtually anything

💥 TRENDING TOOL
Summarize Slack conversations with Spoke

Spoke is all about reducing information overload! It summarizes long and busy Slack channels.

If you’re a Product Manager, you’ve definitely been there…

You start a Slack message on a product question with your Devs, and pretty soon it’s a 100+ thread of thoughts, action items, opinions, and everything else!

You can even set up Digests, to summarize key points from across channels

🙃 SOMETHING FUN
Proposed AI governance framework for everyone

This is straight from business school 101, but yet still pretty helpful.

Forbes last week pushed a simple AI governance framework in the age of ChatGPT.

The idea here is to plot each task on this 2×32, with the axes being Severity of Harm, and the Probability of Harm.

The four quadrants are:

  • Quadrant 3 - Human-in-the-loop - Human-out-of-the-loop: In these tasks, AI can operate autonomously and without humans. These include product recommendation systems, media buying, traffic flow, and supply chain.

  • Quadrants 1 and 4 - Human-over-the-loop: In these tasks, AI can operate without humans but human oversight is necessary. These include sales and marketing functions, asset trading, advisory services, and planning

  • Quadrant 4 - Human-in-the-loop: AI can help, but humans are essential to education. These include medical interpretation, legal, software, and human resources
