🤿 DEEP DIVE

OpenAI Updates ChatGPT Amid Controversy

Intelligence: Amid recent controversies, OpenAI has upgraded its AI-powered chatbot, ChatGPT, making it more direct and less verbose, improving its capabilities in writing, math, logical reasoning, and coding.

Specifics:

• OpenAI has updated its GPT-4 Turbo model, which powers the ChatGPT experience, offering improved capabilities and a more up-to-date knowledge base.  The update is available to premium users including ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise customers

• The new model used data up to December 2023, compared to the previous model only used data up to April 2023.

• The launch follows the release of new models in OpenAI’s API, including GPT-4 Turbo with Vision, which adds image understanding capabilities.

Significance: The model now has more recent information and performs better. This is expected to be the last update before GPT-5.
