OpenAI Launches New Version of Assistants API with Enhanced Features

Intelligence: OpenAI has introduced a new version of its Assistants API, named OpenAI-Beta: assistants=v2, which brings a host of improvements and new features designed to increase efficiency and user control.

• The new API improved the retrieval tool, file_search, which now handles up to 10,000 files per assistant, a significant upgrade.

• The introduction of vector_store objects facilitates automatic parsing, chunking, and embedding of files, enhancing searchability.

• Users gain control over token usage costs by setting the maximum token usage per run, and the new tool_choice parameter enables users to specify tool usage in a run.

Significance: The update offers users greater control, efficiency, and flexibility when using the Assistants API.

Stability AI Partners with Fireworks AI for Stable Diffusion 3 Launch

Intelligence: Stability AI has announced the release of Stable Diffusion 3 and Stable Diffusion 3 Turbo on their Developer Platform API by partnering with Fireworks AI.

• Stable Diffusion 3, as per the research paper, equals or surpasses other text-to-image generation systems such as DALL-E 3 and Midjourney v6 in typography and prompt adherence.

• The new Multimodal Diffusion Transformer (MMDiT) architecture enhances text understanding and spelling capabilities.

• Stability AI plans to make the model weights available for self-hosting with a Stability AI Membership soon.
