OpenAI Sora is making waves
🎤 Make a podcast from PDF + 🏠 smart home market
Hi everyone,
Sora, by OpenAI, is finally out. If you’ve been lucky enough to create an account before they limited access, you know how ‘odd’ this feeling is.
It’s a transformative moment in creativity - I’m getting the same feeling I had when I used MJ for the first time and saw how realistic it could be.
Let’s get right into it.
PS: I know I don’t usually post on Tuesdays, but there’s just so much happening that I felt like I needed to send it out!

OpenAI Launches Controversial AI Video Tool Sora Amid Artist Backlash
Intelligence: OpenAI has officially launched its AI video-generation tool, Sora, which allows users to create high-definition videos from text prompts, amidst criticism from artists regarding the company's treatment of creatives involved in early testing.

Sora will be available to users in the U.S. and several other countries as of today and is included at no additional cost for existing ChatGPT subscribers.
Similar to DALL-E, Sora enables users to input scene descriptions or generate videos based on still images, as well as extend videos and create seamless loops.
OpenAI product lead Rohan Sahai noted the importance of preventing the misuse of Sora while balancing creative freedom for users.
Before the public release, Sora was tested by a limited group of "red-teamers" focused on identifying biases and misinformation issues.
Some artists involved in testing Sora have protested the company’s approach, claiming they were misled and exploited for unpaid labor while receiving minimal recognition or financial compensation while OpenAI emphasized that artist participation in testing was voluntary and expressed commitment to supporting the arts through various initiatives.
