Power Automate Flow for Urgent Emails

Power Automate is the OG productivity tool, and it has only gotten better.

One flow I always have running at work is “Send urgent emails to Teams“. When I’m out and about, I have my email notification off and Teams notifications on.

So, I like to get a Teams message if the word “Urgent” appears anywhere in the subject line.

This flow tells me if there’s an urgent email I need to read and respond.

Here’s how to do it.

1/ Open Power Automate

Go to Power Automate and log in. Click Create, and select Automated Cloud Flow. Give it a name, and then select Skip.

2/ Create the flow

Select Add a trigger, search for and select When a new email arrives (V3). In the parameters, change Subject Filter to Urgent.

Select the + Button, add an action, search for and select Post adaptive card to channel. In the Parameters, select Chat with Flow bot, and add yourself as a recipient.

Under the Adaptive Card, copy and paste the following:

Send an email to yourself, and see the magic happen.
