🙃 SOMETHING FUN
Make movies (you guys have to try it)

You guys have to try it, and it’s free to try!

This is a text-to-video software, similar to Midjourney but creates amazing 5 second snippets of videos. It’s not the best now, but I’m sure it will become much better over the next few years.

I predict in 10 years, people will be making animated TV shows using this technology - become a pioneer and start now!

Go to MoonValley, click “Try the Beta”, and get started (you do need a Discord account).

Here’s what I created.

Prompt: a cute penguin dancing on the moon
Prompt: tiger woods playing golf

📕 LEARN SOMETHING
Sentiment analysis with ChatGPT ADA

I’m confident most people are not using Advanced Data Analysis within ChatGPT, and I can’t think of a reason why!

This week, I used it to perform some sentiment analysis that I had to do for a client.

How did I do it? Follow the steps below.

(PS: sentiment analysis is the process of analyzing text and determining if it’s positive, negative, or neutral)

1/ Perform sentiment analysis with ADA

Step 1: I have a sample Excel file that lists the comments (in free-form text) that I want to run sentiment analysis on

Step 2: Open up ChatGPT and activate Advanced Data Analysis

Step 3: Upload the Excel file and direct it to determine if each comment is positive or negative (i.e., perform sentiment analysis)

Step 4: ChatGPT will then list the steps that it will perform - in this case, sentiment analysis will be done using bag of words

Step 5: Ask ChatGPT to add a column called “classification” and then upload the Excel file

Step 6: Download the Excel file, which contains the additional column that classifies each comment as “positive”, “neutral” and “negative”

📰 TOP NEWS
News on AI, no-code, automation, and productivity

Uber has been ruled against by the Amsterdam District Court in a legal battle involving two drivers whom they "robo-fired". The drivers argued for their right to details about the automated decisions that led to their dismissal, a right guaranteed by the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The court additionally rejected Uber's appeal to cap daily fines for ongoing non-compliance, which has snowballed to a whopping 584,000 euros.

Why should I care?

  • Upholding Rights: This counts as a victory for rights to transparency in algorithmic decision-making.

  • Riders & Drivers Take Note: The ongoing legal scuffle could strike changes in how you interact with ride-hailing apps like Uber.

Adobe has announced the Firefly 2 model, with a strong emphasis on rendering human features. With a larger dataset, the improved model creates higher-quality photos with greater realism. The Firefly web app also adds new features, such as the ability to fine-tune depth of field, motion blur, and field of view settings. Users can now upload an existing image, and Firefly will style it to match.

The new model is already available via the Firefly web app and is being integrated with popular Creative Cloud tools like Photoshop.

Why should I care?

  • Enhanced Workflow Integration: One can seamlessly incorporate advanced generative editing into their existing work processes 🤯

  • Expanded Creative Horizons: These advancements open the doors to exploring new possibilities in generative editing, offering greater creative control that leads to more innovative and high-quality content production and potentially giving a competitive edge.

Google is making significant strides toward sustainability by providing innovative features. A new Electric Vehicle (EV) shopping tool, for example, enables consumers in the United States to make informed decisions about EVs by allowing them to compare pricing, battery ranges, and government incentives.

Furthermore, Google is extending its Flood Hub, which already covers over 800 riverbank locations in the United States and Canada, and using AI for advanced flood predictions. The partnership with the U.S. Forest Service will improve fire safety by using machine learning, and Google will also provide information on energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions.

EPIK, a South Korean AI app, has amassed enormous popularity on the App Store, allowing users to create nostalgic 90s-inspired "yearbook" photos from uploaded selfies. With an impressive 92.3 million installs since its August 2021 launch and its current position as the top app in the U.S. App Store, EPIK's success is undeniable, but its inability to meet the soaring demand has resulted in service disruptions.
