🤝 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH Incogni

Data brokers play a shady game — harvesting your personal data online, and selling it to the highest bidder. No informed consent required.

In fact, every time you accept cookies or download an app from a bad actor, your data could be at risk. Opting out is possible of course — but made difficult by design.

It’d take the average person 304 hours to manually complete all the data removal requests needed to secure their privacy. That’s why the VPN specialists at Surfshark created Incogni: The data removal service that takes care of wiping your personal info from hundreds of databases, reducing the threat of robocalls, scams, and fraud.

Safeguarding your data shouldn’t take up your spare time. Leave it to Incogni — Our readers get 60% off the Incogni annual plan at this link with code PRIVACY.

🤿 DEEP DIVE
White House set to watch AI giants closely

A bombshell dropped yesterday, in the form of an Executive Order from the US government.

It seems like the White House is belting out 'Every Breath You Take' to AI giants including Google, OpenAI, and Amazon...

The Biden Administration plans to invoke the Defense Production Act to get an early heads-up when tech behemoths start training their high-powered AI algorithms.

What does that mean? Companies must:

  • Report when they start training a new large language model

  • Complete risk assessments covering AI’s use in infrastructure

  • Report if they are providing computing power to foreign companies

Is this privacy invasion or something necessary? More details are expected to be announced next week. I don’t like it.

📕 LEARN SOMETHING
Turn your random thoughts into clear text

There’s a great app called RambleFix that’s been going through the popular Reddit AI threads.

It listens to your random unstructured thoughts and ramblings, and converts that into anything you want (an email, a note, a task list, etc.)

It’s super helpful for (socially awkward) folks like me who have trouble writing exactly what to say…

The yellow boxes represent what I said

How it works:

  • Go to RambleFix

  • Select the microphone and start saying what’s on your mind. In my example, I started talking about an email I had to write.

  • RambleFix will convert that into a structured coherent email

In case you can’t see the GIF, it converted my ramblings into:

Hey Dave, it's been a while since we last caught up. I wanted to reach out and see if you're interested in doing any talks or catching up in general. Let me know your thoughts. I'm open to any suggestions. Just keep me informed about what you have in mind. Alright, cool
